Luther Martin

Лютер Мартин (1483-1546), деятель Реформации, основатель лютеранской (протестантской) церкви, монах ордена августинцев, профессор теологии Виттенбергского университета. Осуществил перевод Нового (1521) и Ветхого (1534) заветов на немецкий язык с греческого и древнееврейского, что способствовало развитию общенемецкого литературного языка, т.к. точность перевода сочеталась с общедоступной языковой формой. Его "95 тезисов против индульгенций" стали отправной точкой Реформации в Германии. Его произведения "Малый катехизис" и "Большой катехизис" используются в евангелической церкви и в настоящее время практически в неизменённой форме. Творческое наследие Лютера включает также произведения дидактических жанров (басни, шпрухи) и духовные песни, которые отвечали задаче создания немецкой общинной протестантской песни. Памятники во многих городах – Вормсе, Виттенберге, Айслебене, Магдебурге, Дрездене и др. Музеи в Айслебене, где Лютер родился и умер, в Виттенберге, Айзенахе и др.
